EXRP is an evidence-based treatment for OCD, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related avoidance. It involves systematically confronting feared thoughts, memories, or situations (exposure) while refraining from compulsive or avoidance behaviors (response prevention). This process reduces anxiety over time, disrupts the avoidance cycle, and builds tolerance for distress.
